Trend chart allow the user to easily compare a measurement point’s most recent reading to its previous readings and its alarm setup, allowing the user to see how the point is ‘trending’ over time. Trend plot is an easy and accurate method of detecting gradual changes in process conditions and changes that might otherwise be overlooked. The horizontal X-Axis represents Time (Date/Time) and the vertical Y-Axis represents Magnitude.
- You can click and drag to the right or left in the plot to zoom in. To zoom out and return to the original state you can use the Reset zoom button.
- You can update the date range of the data that is visualized in the Trend chart. The range is set by choosing one of the options in the dropdown menu. You can choose between different alternatives: Last 2 months, Last 12 months, Last 24 months, All, Custom. The default setting depends on what frequency the data is collected. For data collected at least once a day, the default range will be Last 2 months, and for data collected with less frequency, the default setting will be Last 24 months.
You can also set a custom range of dates, as shown in the picture below. - You can update alarm thresholds in the Hierarchy or directly in the Trend chart. Note that this action will take effect only after you refresh the page. For more information about Overall alarms and alarm thresholds, you can find more information here: How do I set alarm thresholds?
- When you select a point from the Trend chart related Spectrum and Timewave data will be shown in the Spectrum and Timewave chart. Notice that not all measurements in the Trend chart have related Spectrum and Timewave data. For example, online sensors do not collect these data types for every measurement.
- The Trend chart also has support for keyboard navigation. You will find more information about each shortcut here: Which keyboard shortcuts are available in Analyze?
